Where Outlaw History Meets Utah Backcountry Riding

Robbers Roost is a large area in Eastern Wayne County where open desert gives way to winding canyons, rugged overlooks, and striking backcountry routes. The history still shapes the experience today. Riding here is not just about riding our trails; it is about entering a place that still feels untamed and the chance to experience some of Utah’s most memorable OHV destinations.

The name Robbers Roost highlights the raw, untamed nature of the landscape, inviting all to explore the hidden spots and experience the same dramatic surroundings that once offered sanctuary to outlaws.

Before You Ride, Know the Terrain

Part of what makes Robbers Roost special is also what makes it important to prepare. This is a remote backcountry area, and riders often have questions before they arrive. Where should you start? Which routes fit your group? What trail conditions should you expect? How do you ride responsibly and safely in such a rugged area?

Without good information, a trip that should feel exciting can start to feel stressful. Robbers Roost Trail System helps riders explore with more confidence by sharing trail information, safety guidance, local insight, and resources that make planning easier.

When you know what to expect, you can spend less time worrying and more time enjoying the ride.

Protecting the Trails That Make the Adventure Possible

Robbers Roost Trail System is a local effort dedicated to improving the riding experience in and around Robbers Roost. Working with Wayne County, public land managers, volunteers, and local riders, the organization supports trail access, signage, rider education, events, and trail improvements across this unique backcountry area.

That work makes a real difference. Better information helps riders arrive prepared. Maintained trails are safer for everyone. Improved signage makes routes easier to navigate. Stronger stewardship helps protect access and preserve the quality of the riding experience for future visitors.

Just as important, this work helps support tourism in Hanksville and Wayne County by encouraging more riders and families to return again and again.

If you love places like Robbers Roost, supporting the trail system is one of the best ways to help protect what makes this area special. Your donation helps keep the trails open, safer, better supported, and ready for the next adventure.
